Indian team led by Rohit Sharma leaves for Dubai to participate in Champions Trophy 2025
Champions Trophy 2025: The two-time Champions Trophy winner Indian team will start their 2025 campaign against Bangladesh on February 20.
The Indian senior men's cricket team led by captain Rohit Sharma has left for Dubai from Mumbai to participate in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy starting on February 19.
All Group-A Indian team fixtures shall be staged at the Dubai International Stadium, while other fixtures shall be staged in Pakistan. Images from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, show Rohit & co. support staff checking in at the airport to depart by flight to Dubai.
Earlier the Indian team had also decided to fly out to Dubai in two batches, but as per the recent directives issued by the BCCI, the team shall fly together for their away assignments, so it has also been decided that the team shall fly together from Mumbai for the Champions Trophy.
India will miss their pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in the Champions Trophy, who is recovering from a back injury he suffered during the 5th Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Sydney last month. Fast bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has been included in the squad in his place, while wrist spinner Varun Chakravarthy has also been included in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was originally in the provisional squad.
