The government will soon introduce a policy in a bid to protect buyers of diamonds from fakes. It can be in certificate form, such as a hallmark for gold, in which a certificate will be produced for a buyer when buying a diamond. But it can be in any form elsewise.

According to Amar Ujala sources, complaints are being received continuously in this matter. After this, this policy is being prepared. In view of this, the world's leading diamond company De Beers Group has started activities under the Indian Natural Diamond Retailer Alliance (Indra) to promote real diamonds in collaboration with the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). De Beers India Managing Director Amit Pratihari said, that through Indra's, real diamonds will be identified.

At present, the reach of real diamonds in the Indian jewelry retail sector is only 10 percent. Retailers will be able to register on Indra's portal. They will get information about real diamonds here in many languages. 10,500 members of GJEPC will be able to enroll in the first phase. The value of the Indian gems and jewelry market is currently $ 85 billion. It is estimated to reach $ 130 billion by 2030.
