Ex-Google and Amazon Policy Leader Aman Jain to Lead Meta India’s Public Policy Team
Meta India on Friday announced the appointment of Aman Jain as its new head of public policy. The company stated that he will lead the company's policy strategy and operations in the country. Interestingly, Jain, who has extensive experience in the public policy space, will join Mark Zuckerberg's company after leaving a similar role at Amazon.



Meta India on Friday named Aman Jain as its new head of public policy. According to Meta, Jain will assume charge in early next year and will be reporting to Simon Milner, vice president of policy for Asia Pacific at Meta. The new hire will also be a member of the India leadership team at Meta. The India leadership team at Meta manages strategy on all platforms, ranging from social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Jain, who currently serves as Director of Public Policy at Amazon, a role he took up in 2023, boasts more than 20 years of accumulated expertise in sectors that include public policy, technology, and business strategy. Jain worked as Country Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Google.
In addition, the Amazon executive served as a consultant at the US Department of Justice in 2013 before serving as Advisor to the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (I/C) in the Government of India. Jain's most recent tenure was at Amazon, where he led policy strategy across marketplace, operations, competition, and technology.
Simon Milner, Vice President of Policy, Asia Pacific, at Meta, said in a statement, "I am delighted to welcome Aman as Head of Public Policy in India. His extensive experience in public policy and technology will help Meta become an even more effective partner in shaping a better policy environment for regulators and industry stakeholders.
