Curious Case of Sanju Samson: When there is T20 World Cup, we play ODI and when there is ODI World Cup, we play T20

Whenever the saga of unlucky players is written in the history of Indian cricket, Sanju Samson's name will come on top. This player, who made a place in millions of hearts with his explosive innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), never got a permanent place in the Indian team. In the last ten years, Samson never got consistent opportunities like other players.

Samson is the captain of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and has played excellent innings at difficult times. Seeing everyone asks why this player is not in the Indian team. Samson is full of talent, but luck betrays him every time.

After being ignored in the World Cup 2023, Samson was not even given a chance in the T20 series being played against Australia. But he has been selected in the Indian ODI team for the South African tour starting from December 10. Samson got a chance but even this time justice was not done to him. The selectors always make Samson a part of the team which is second class. In simple language, it is called 'B team'.

When India was to play T20 World Cup in 2022. Then Samson was continuously selected for the ODI team. Whatever opportunities he got, he made the most of them. But that year he was not given a chance in T20 and in the end, he was not even selected for the T20 World Cup team. After this, when the team started preparing for the ODI World Cup in 2023, Samson was shifted to the T20 team. In the end, despite averaging 56 runs, he did not get a place in the ODI World Cup squad. In his place, Suryakumar Yadav, who was continuously flopping, was given a chance and he could not do anything special even in the World Cup.

Now India has started preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the USA next year. In such a situation, once again the selectors did what they had been doing with Samson. He has not been made a part of the planning for the T20 World Cup and has been selected for the ODI team.
