Dhuri (Punjab): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday claimed that the Congress and Akali Dal have lost their relevance in state politics and said the leaders of these parties are still living under the illusion that they are in power. . Mann presided over a program organized on the occasion of the 72nd State Level Van Mahotsav and addressing a public meeting, the Chief Minister said that the leadership of both the parties has not yet recovered from the crushing defeat in the assembly elections.

He said, “They are living in misunderstanding and believing that they are still in power. However, these power-hungry leaders have forgotten that the wise and brave people of Punjab have elected a government that is zealously serving them.” The Chief Minister said that the Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal have lost their relevance in Punjab politics and people have rejected them as they could not fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Taking a jibe at Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Mann said the leaders who claimed that they would rule Punjab for 25 years have been completely rejected by the people. He also hit out at former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and questioned his absence from the political scene.
