In a major crackdown on tax evasion in Rajasthan, the Commercial Tax Department seized 17 cargo vehicles operating without valid documents statewide. Additionally, the warehouses of six leading Jaipur transport companies have been sealed. Under the guidance of Chief Commissioner Kumar Pal Gautam, nine specialized enforcement teams conducted covert surveillance on various highways across the state. Using technical assistance, these teams intercepted trucks carrying groceries, marble-granite, dry fruits, and electronic goods. Investigations showed that these vehicles lacked e-way bills or valid GST documents. The seized vehicles are now parked in departmental offices, with officials in the process of verifying goods and collecting taxes.
Further expanding their efforts, the department raided warehouses belonging to six major transport firms—Gill Sandhu Transport, Jadia Transport, Kriyashakti, Sunil Transport, and PCM Cargo—in Jaipur's VKI area and Transport Nagar. Over two days, officials seized 1,960 packages containing finished goods, dried fruits, and high-end electronics, valued in crores. They also recovered numerous loose slips and diaries likely to reveal additional tax evasion worth crores.
Officials emphasized that this initiative aims to promote honest taxpayers and transporters, fostering a transparent and competitive business environment. The department plans to continue such intensive investigations throughout Rajasthan.
