Nita Ambani's saree made headlines at Reliance AGM, a unique example of India's traditional workmanship
Reliance AGM: Nita Ambani wore a Banarasi brocade saree. It was hand-designed by Iqbal Ahmed. Barfi booti and traditional zari work was done in it which shows the diversity of Indian art. Reliance Foundation is supporting several regional arts under its Swadesh programme. Banarasi saree is also one of them.
Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani addressed the 46th AGM of Reliance Industries. At the AGM he spoke about the launch of NMACC and the work of Reliance Foundation. During this time, Nita Ambani's saree caught everyone's attention.
Nita Ambani wore a Banarasi saree, which was hand-designed by Iqbal Ahmed. This was a Banarasi brocade saree, which was woven from silk. Barfi booti and traditional zari work were done in it, which shows the diversity of Indian art.
Reliance Foundation is supporting several regional arts under its 'Swadesh' programme. Banarasi weaving is also one of them. It is an initiative of Reliance Foundation to preserve and promote the traditional arts and crafts of India. Recently, in a program on behalf of Nita Ambani, tribute has been paid for carrying forward such arts from generation to generation.
