EPFO Services on Digilocker

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced that members can now download their required documents through the DigiLocker facility. The organization has given this information by sharing an infographic through its official Twitter handle on Saturday.
Sharing the infographic, EPFO ​​wrote, "Members can download UAN card, Pension Payment Order (PPO) and Scheme Certificate through DigiLocker." Apart from this, it is also written on the infographic that all the documents can be downloaded from Digilocker.
UAN is a vital document for salaried workers, which allows them to keep track of their multiple Employees' Provident Fund (EPFO) accounts. At the same time, the PPO number is a unique 12-digit number, which is required by the pensioners to get their pension.
On the other hand, the EPS certificate is a document issued by the EPFO, which contains the details of the service of the Provident Fund member. Apart from the service details, the number of years the member served, the family details of the employee and the family member who is eligible to get a pension in case of death of the member, these details are also there.
EPFO operates the Contributory Provident Fund, pension scheme and insurance scheme for employees working in the organized sector. EPFO was formed on 15 November 1951 by the Employees' Provident Fund Ordinance. It was then replaced by the Employees' Provident Fund Act in 1952.
DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) under the Digital India programme. It aims at 'Digital Empowerment' of the citizen by giving citizens access to authentic digital documents in a digital document wallet.
