The extremely strong performance in both quarters can be entirely attributed to the 108% year-on-year growth in retail sales of 1,308 units in Q2. With this, JLR is now pointing to an order book that shows continued growth. The company further said that models like Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender continue to be in strong demand, contributing 72 percent to the total order book. The Defender, in particular, was the best-selling model for the company. Its sales of 1,000 units have been recorded in the first half.
Currently, JLR says its total order book covers more than eight months of sales. JLR India Managing Director Rajan Amba said we are pleased with our strong performance in Q1 and Q2FY24.
