Army Day 15: Parade will be held in Bengaluru instead of Delhi

Every year 15 January is celebrated as Army Day in the country. A grand parade is organized in Delhi on this day, but for the first time in history, this time the most prestigious ceremony of the Indian Army, the Army Day Parade will be organized in Bengaluru. The parade will be held at the Regimental Center of the Madras Engineering Group (MEG).
In the Army Day parade, a contingent of the Madras Regiment, Artillery Regiment, Para SF, Bombay Engineer Group, Mahar Regiment, MEG, a cavalry contingent from the Army Service Corps and a military band are participating in the parade march. It consists of 5 Regimental Brass Bands. The entire contingent comprises 3 officers and 57 other ranks.
The organization of this historic event is a tribute to the valour, sacrifice and services of the people of the southern states of India. It is also a fitting tribute to Field Marshal KM Cariappa. Indian Army personnel will also build sports facilities and organize friendly matches with youth and students. The message of unity will be given by having food with the local people.
Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will lay a wreath in honour of the martyrs in Bengaluru on January 15 and review the Army Day Parade and also the parade highlighting the military prowess of the Army. Major General Ravi Murugan, General Officer Commanding, Karnataka and Kerala Sub-Area, said that with this comes many problems. Given the security concerns, this may have a tendency to disturb the program.
In the Southern Command, 75,000 saplings will be planted on the theme of environmental protection for Green India. There will also be other events including instruments and band performances, quiz competitions, painting and essay writing, cyclotron, and motivational talks from the valour.
