Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice to the upcoming Hindi film "The Lipstick Boy", directed by Abhinav Thakur. The movie is based on the famous folk dance of Bihar, Launda Naach, and tells the story of the struggles of artists associated with this culture. The film features Manoj Patel, a famous film and TV actor from Bihar, in the lead role, alongside other talented actors such as Sriparna Chakravrty, Saurabh Safari, Ravikant, Ladli Roy, and Santosh Mehra.
Director Abhinav Thakur said that the movie's main objective is to showcase the life of artists associated with Launda Naach, which is full of struggles, and to take this dying art form to the country and the world. He was inspired to make the movie after meeting a folk dancer from Bihar, Kumar Uday Singh, at the National School of Drama campus in Delhi.
The movie was screened on March 24, 2023, at the Bihar film festival, which was attended by the Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Govt. of Bihar, Smt. Bandana Preyashi. The film has received a positive response from the audience, with individuals of all age groups applauding and cheering for the movie.
