Coco Gauff, an American star tennis player has entered the final of the women's singles of the China Open with a brilliant performance. The fourth seed, Gauff, produced an excellent comeback from a set down and entered the closing match, defeating Spain's Paula Badosa 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in two hours and 21 minutes. World number three, 3-19 player Badosa gave a very good fight to 20-year-old Gauff. Leading 4-3 in the second set, though, Badosa watched the American take an injury timeout before reeling off four straight games to push the match to a deciding set.

Earlier, US Open champion Gauff was looking for her second title this year. In January, she won her only title this year in the Auckland Open. After making it to the final, Gauff said, it was a tough match, I kept my focus. It is difficult to come back after falling behind, but I handled myself and corrected my mistakes.

On the opening day of the Shanghai Masters Tennis Tournament, the world number one men's single player Jannik Sinner emerged victorious. Sinner defeated Japan's Taro Daniel in the first round with 6-1, 6-4. Thus, he recorded his 60th victory this year. He is the first player who attained 250 wins in a career born in the 2000s. Meanwhile, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz too made it to the second round. Alcaraz defeated China's Shan Juncheng 6-2, 6-2.
