Airlines Stop Pet Dog's Entry: Family could not Board Flight despite having Boarding Pass; Air India apologized
A family travelling with their pet dog was stopped by Air India staff from boarding a flight in Bengaluru. The family has shared the video against the Air India pilot on social media. This person named Sachin Shenoy said that the airline did not allow his pet dog inside the flight despite having a boarding pass.
At the same time, a response has been given on behalf of Air India. The airline said- sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We never intend to cause any kind of inconvenience to the passengers. Please share your booking details and pet Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD) details via message so that we can let the airport team look into it on priority.
Sachin told that he was going on a 12-day trip to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh with his wife and daughter. He was to board flight number AI503 from Bangalore to Amritsar. He was accompanied by his pet dog, which he followed the rules of the airline to take on the flight. He was also issued a boarding pass for this. For this, he was also in constant contact with the airlines, but then the pilot Captain Chopra refused to give him entry into the flight.
Sachin also said that his dog's weight was less than 5 kg and as per the rules it was allowed to fly inside the cabin. They got all checks done for the dog's entry and he was issued a boarding pass today. He sat at the airport for more than four hours, he said. During this time the dog did not disturb any passengers. He sat quietly.
Sachin said that he was told that he could leave his pet dog and board the flight. It is like leaving your child. He also said that it appeared that the flight was overbooked. He claimed that all this resulted in huge losses for him after making hotel and travel bookings three months in advance.
After the video went viral on social media, many netizens started calling the airline anti-pet. Responding to this, Air India said- Sir, we love our dear friends as much as you do. All support was provided by our Bangalore airport team. To make sure your fluffy can fly with us on board.
