Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan has been in the news lately. The Hindu Sena has brought it back in the limelight with a demand made on performing prayers in Sankat Mochan Temple in Ajmer Dargah on Mahashivratri. Hindu Sena national chief Vishnu Gupta has written a letter to the district collector. In which a claim has been made that there is a ancient Shiva temple under the complex of Dargah where Lord Shiva has been worshipped ages back.
Hindu Sena addressed a letter to Collector Ajmer in which they declared 'Ajmer Dargah was built over destroyed Hindu temples.' On the basis of fact, there is an ancient Shiva mandir under the complex of Dargah where Lord Shiva was worshipped ages back. The worshippers who worshipped there were 'Ghadiyalis.' The worship there was under a conspiracy. The statue of Lord Shiva is inscribed on the wall in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, which is still present today.
The letter further read that 'The festival of Mahashivratri comes once a year, this festival is celebrated prominently by crores of Hindus. On this day, Lord Shiva is worshiped and adored. This holy festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated this time on 26 February 2025.
