On Wednesday, two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in an encounter by security forces in the Bomai area of ​​Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Rafi, a resident of Sopore and Kaiser Ashraf, a resident of Pulwama. Rafi has also been involved in many terrorist activities before this. He was booked twice under the Public Safety Act (PSA). At the same time, according to the Kashmir Police, there is news of a terrorist still hiding. The search operation is going on in the area.
Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Jammu and Kashmir said that both the slain terrorists were involved in several cases of crime. As per the inputs, they were planning to attack the local civilians in Sopore. Vijay Kumar said a civilian was also injured during the encounter and was admitted to a hospital in Srinagar where his condition is stated to be stable.
On Wednesday, the security forces had received news of 2 to 3 terrorists hiding in the area. After this, the team cordoned off the area and started the search operation. Seeing the security forces approaching, the terrorists hiding in a house started firing on the security forces. After which both the terrorists were killed in retaliation.
Earlier on Tuesday, security forces killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Shopian. The slain terrorists were identified as Danish Khurshid Bhat, Tanveer Wani and Tauseef Bhat of Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was involved in many cases of terrorism. Danish Bhatt was involved in the recruitment process of terrorists.
Vijay Kumar said that in the last two and a half years only 150 terrorists have been killed in Shopian and now very few terrorists are left. Visibility will increase after a month when the apple trees shed their leaves, which will make the encounter easier.
