The wolf tried to escape by grabbing the child by the throat. But the family woke up on hearing his scream. Hearing the noise of the family, the wolf ran away into the fields. On receiving the information, the police and forest team took the child to CHC Mahsi. Where his treatment is going on. The panic has increased due to the sudden attack again.
57 teams searching for two wolves
200 PAC jawans, 32 revenue department teams and 25 forest department teams have been deployed to protect against the wolves and catch them. Every possible effort is being made by the teams but all efforts seem to be failing in front of the cleverness of the two wolves. On Saturday too, the teams kept searching the sugarcane fields and river banks but the wolves were not caught.
About 50 villages of Hardi and Khairighat police station areas of Mahsi tehsil are affected by wolves. In these areas, the government and administration are running awareness and arrest campaigns on a war footing. On Saturday too, teams led by DFO Bahraich Ajit Pratap Singh, DFO Barabanki Akashdeep Badhawan and BDO Hemant Yadav ran the campaign throughout the day but remained empty-handed. At the same time, the villagers also formed groups and kept searching for the wolves but could not find any clue. It is worth noting that three thermal drones, four cages, half a dozen nets and six trapping cameras have been installed to catch the remaining two wolves.
Took stock of the preparations for catching the wolves
Chairman of the Child Rights Protection Commission, Dr. Devendra Sharma also reached Mahsi tehsil on Saturday. He inspected village panchayat Sisayya Churamani's Mazra Kolela, village panchayat Sikandarpur's Mazra Makkapurwa, village panchayat Nakwa, Singiya Nasirpur etc. and took information from the affected families. Also, took stock of the preparations of the forest department and the district administration for catching the wolves. He appealed to the people to lie down inside the house, keep sticks and torches etc. with them.
According to villagers, two other girls had gone missing in the past.
Several villagers told Dr. Devesh Sharma, chairman of the Child Rights Protection Commission, said two other girls had gone missing in the past but no information about them has been available so far. It was also raised that the two girls' missing cases have not been registered anywhere.
