Western Disturbance Brings Relief from Cold in Rajasthan, Temperatures Rise

The effects of the Western Disturbance continued in Rajasthan on Saturday as well. Light cloud movement was observed in the northwestern districts, particularly in the border areas of Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar, which border Pakistan. This system weakened the northern winds, providing some relief from the morning and evening cold and the cold wave.

A slight increase was also recorded in day and night temperatures. Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the highest in the state. Nagaur, Bikaner, Phalodi, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jalore, and Pali also recorded daytime temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius or above.

According to the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, the weather remained clear and sunny in most cities over the past 24 hours. However, Sriganganagar experienced light fog on Saturday morning. Fatehpur and Dungarpur were the coldest in the state, with a minimum temperature of 5.4 degrees Celsius.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, stated that the partial effect of the Western Disturbance will persist until December 22nd, leading to scattered clouds, with temperatures expected to remain relatively stable. After the system weakens on December 23rd, the weather will clear, and temperatures may begin to drop. Northerly winds are expected from December 24th, which could cause temperatures to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Dense fog is also expected in some districts of northern Rajasthan.
