Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri in his latest tweet has reacted to the new rule of patrolling in Delhi Metro. Recently, it was reported that Delhi Metro will have frequent police patrolling inside each compartment to prevent the 'objectionable' behavior of commuters.
Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter to react to the decision and said, "This is so stupid." Vivek posted a report on the recent decision taken by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to ensure that there is no display of 'objectionable' behavior.
This decision was taken about a week ago after a series of videos of the Delhi Metro surfaced online. Recently, a case has come to light in which a man was seen doing obscene acts inside a metro coach. After the video went viral, many people questioned the etiquette of public transport.
With the recent incident coming to light, officials have said that police in both uniform and plain clothes will soon be deployed in metro coaches. The DMRC also said that it plans to use CCTV cameras installed inside metro coaches more frequently to identify objectionable behavior or catch people making videos that may cause inconvenience to other commuters.
Officials said, "We aim to improve security and surveillance by implementing a number of measures. This includes patrolling inside trains. We request commuters behave responsibly while traveling by metro. If other passengers If any objectionable behavior is observed by the commuters, they should immediately report the matter to the DMRC helpline giving details of corridor, station, and timings, etc."
