'Use of children in porn is a matter of serious concern', Supreme Court reserved its decision in this case

The Supreme Court says that watching porn of a child once may not be a crime but the use of children in pornographic films is a very worrying topic.

A division bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala on Friday reserved its verdict on the petition filed by a Faridabad-based NGO (Just Rights for Children Alliance of Faridabad) and New Delhi's 'Bachpan Bachao Andolan' challenging the Madras High Court's decision. Have done. These NGOs work for the welfare of destitute children.

It is significant that the POCSO Act and Information Technology Act do not criminalise the simple act of viewing or downloading child pornography, as stated by the Madras High Court in its ruling. A 28-year-old defendant in the criminal case was found not guilty on January 11 by the High Court. He was charged with downloading pornographic content intended for children onto his smartphone.
