Tanishaa Mukerji on Kajol's response to her statement that 'I am not a star'

A teaser for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 with Tanishaa Mukherji moved and surprised a lot of people. The actor revealed that her brother-in-law Ajay Devgn and sister Kajol are two of the top performers in the nation and that she comes from a family of artists. In response to critic Farah Khan's assessment of Tanishaa's performance, Tanishaa stated that she doesn't view herself as a "star" compared to her family.

Asking Tanishaa why she made such an impression on television, Indian Express recently got in touch with her. The Neal and Nikki actor described her feelings as "raw," stating that it was her first time performing on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 and that she had not been in front of an audience or judge in a long time, so she was overcome with emotion. It was Farah as well, who played a huge role in my sister's journey. Observing her choreography, Kajol and even Rani, has grown on me. Tanishaa remarked, "So when she called me a star, it really hit deep."

She added, “I believe in what I said on the stage. I have set a great standard for myself, as these people have really amazing personalities. I don’t know about others, but I wouldn’t call myself a star just because I achieved a few things. I would do it only the day I feel I have accomplished something even close to the level of love, goodwill, and body of work they have. That, for me, is stardom. They are like my idols, and I look up to them. But I did get emotional about getting this validation from someone from the same fraternity.”
