Bangladesh is set to tour Australia for two Test matches after a wait of twenty years. The test series will take place between August 13 and 26, with matches in Mackay and Darwin. Bangladesh had their last test series in Australia in 2003. Additionally, Cricket Australia has confirmed a three-Test series against South Africa, four Tests against New Zealand, and a five-Test series against India in the 2026-27 season.

Today, Cricket Australia has announced a two-Test series against Bangladesh on February 25, with the matches scheduled for August 13-17 in Darwin and August 22-26 in Mackay. Mackay will host its first Test, making it the 12th Australian venue to do so. Darwin hosted Bangladesh in 2003 and Sri Lanka in 2004, but Australia hasn't played an international match there since 2008.

Cricket Australia Chief Executive Todd Greenberg said, "It's no secret that the international calendar is very busy now, and we are fortunate to have world-class facilities available in August, which ensures we have another opportunity for Test cricket beyond the summer."

Ninth-ranked Bangladesh have not played Australia in long-form cricket since their first Test win over Australia in Dhaka in 2017. Australia's proposed tour of Bangladesh in 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic, meaning this year's series will be the first time the two countries will play during the World Test Championship era.
