Reliance released figures: Profit increased by 7.4% to Rs 18,540 crore in December quarter
Q3 Results: The third quarter results of Reliance and Infosys have been released. Reliance has reported a 7.4% increase in profit. On the other hand, Infosys has told the stock market that its profit in the December quarter increased by 11.46 percent year-on-year to Rs 6,806 crore.

Reliance Industries has released the results for the December quarter. According to the company's filing, the consolidated net profit in the third quarter of the current financial year ended in December has increased by 7.4 percent to Rs 18,540 crore. Profit has increased due to the boom in the company's retail business and the increase in earnings in the telecom sector. Reliance said in a notice to the stock market on Thursday that its consolidated net profit in the October-December quarter of the current financial year 2024-25 was Rs 18,540 crore i.e. Rs 13.70 per share. Earlier in the same quarter of the financial year, the company had a profit of Rs 17,265 crore i.e. Rs 12.76 per share.
The company's profit in the July-September quarter of the current financial year was Rs 16,563 crore. The company's operating income stood at Rs 2.43 lakh crore in the December quarter, which was Rs 2.27 lakh crore in the same quarter of 2023-24 a year ago.
The net profit of telecom company Reliance Jio has increased by 24 percent in the October-December quarter of the current financial year. The company's average earnings per user (ARPU) has increased due to the fee hike. Its net profit on a standalone basis increased to Rs 6,477 crore in the December quarter, from Rs 5,208 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The company's net profit stood at Rs 6,231 crore in the July-September quarter. Jio's operating income rose to Rs 29,307 crore in the December quarter from Rs 25,368 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
The country's second-largest and leading company in the information technology services industry, Infosys, recorded an 11.46 percent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 6,806 crore for the October-December quarter of the current financial year. The company had extracted a net profit of Rs 6,106 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Infosys said the operating income of the company increased 7.58 percent to Rs 41,764 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 38,821 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal.
Financial services and manufacturing contributed 27.8 percent and 15.5 percent to revenues respectively. Retail and energy followed. On a year-on-year basis, Infosys recorded double-digit growth in both India and Europe, while North America recorded close to five percent annual growth.
