One of the students of the Kota city of Rajasthan, preparing for the engineering entrance examination, committed suicide. The incident was exposed on Monday. The student preparing for the examination is from the state of Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur). He had prepared for JEE Main and Advanced for 2 years at Kota.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police (GRP-Kota), Shankar Lal, added that Ujjwal Mishra, a native of Kanpur, had to go to Lucknow, for which he was allotted a center for the purpose of appearing for the entrance examination for engineering.

His father, Deepak Kumar Mishra, had come here on Monday to take Ujjwal and his belongings back to UP, the police said. Ujjwal was a JEE preparatory student at a coaching institute here and was staying at a hostel in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar.

The DSP said the student left his hostel room around 6.30 pm on Sunday and reached Kota railway station. According to the train pilot, when the boy saw the train approaching, he lay down on the tracks. The pilot immediately informed the Government Railway Police about the incident.
