Asia Cup 2025 has been difficult for the Pakistani team, as they have lost three consecutive matches to India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also created difficulties for its own players while facing criticism both domestically and internationally.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of its players playing in overseas T20 leagues. This decision was taken by the PCB after the defeat to India in the Asia Cup final. The reason for this decision has not been disclosed yet.

According to Cricinfo, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed sent a notice informing about the decision. The notice, quoting the PCB chief, stated that all NOCs issued to players participating in foreign leagues and other tournaments have been suspended until further notice.

The cancellation of NOCs will affect several Pakistani players, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf, and Shadab Khan. Several Pakistani players are seeking to participate in Australia's Big Bash League (ILT20) and the Canada T20 League this year.

The final of the Asia Cup 2025 was played between India and Pakistan in Dubai on September 28. India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets. This was India's third consecutive victory over Pakistan in the tournament.
