OpenAI's X-Press account hacked, cryptocurrency promoted
OpenAI: After the account was hacked, the post from the account claimed that all OpenAI users are eligible to claim part of the initial supply of $OPENAI and that holding the $OPENAI token will give access to all future beta programs.

OpenAI's official X-Press account @OpenAINewsroom was hacked on the evening of September 23. This hack was used to promote a cryptocurrency scam called "$OPENAI". The posts made from this account, which has about 54,000 followers, have now been deleted. The launch of a new token was announced with the post.
Added to the account, which had been hacked: "All OpenAI users are now eligible to claim some of the first supply of $OPENAI, and holding the $OPENAI token gives access to all future beta programs.
What's even worse, the scammers even made a fake website about OpenAI. The post had a link that was not on the domain of the actual openai.com. It asked users to take advantage of claiming $OPENAI cryptocurrency, but users needed to connect their wallets first, which was the scheme.
So far both OpenAI and X have not commented about the incident. Account @OpenAINewsroom was created at the beginning of this month. Now the account is back, but it did not explain how the incident happened.
