India's railways will now operate at a 160 km/h speed. Indian Railways will now make the necessary preparations for every coach. 160 to 200 kilometres per hour will be the top speed at which these coaches can operate. Railways currently operate forty thousand ICF coaches. They are currently operated by Indian Railways and installed in 2200 Mail-Express trains. In the next five years, these will all be fully converted to Vande Bharat standards.

Coaches from Vande Bharat are constructed of stainless steel. It is strong and light as a result. Its wheels are designed to go between 160 and 200 km/h at their fastest. The automated doors on the coach open similarly to metro doors. Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, the doors open only when the train stops.

Railways has stopped making ICF coaches. A senior Railway Board official said that decades ago integral coach factories were manufactured in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. These were made of iron. It weighed a lot. In case of an accident, these coaches used to run over each other. In such a situation, there was a lot of loss of life and property. It had 72 seats in the sleeper class and 62 seats in the air-conditioned third class.
