NITI Aayog promotes entrepreneurship, initiative started for vocal for local
NITI Aayog launched an initiative under the Aspirational Blocks Program to promote vocals for locals. NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subramaniam has requested the District Collector and block-level officials regarding this. It has been asked to collaborate with partners like e-Marketplace (GeM) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (OANDC).
Vocal for Local is being promoted by the government. NITI Aayog has given an official statement regarding this.
The commission said it launched the 'vocal for local' initiative on Wednesday under its Aspirational Blocks Program to strengthen local economies and promote grassroots entrepreneurship.
B V R Subramaniam, CEO of NITI Aayog, also supported Vocal for Local. In order to support the long-term expansion of microenterprises, he called on the District Collector and Block-level officials to work together with partners such as Government e-Marketplace (JEM) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
The partners will additionally offer technical and operational support to enable financial/digital literacy, e-commerce onboarding, linkages, documentation/certification, and skill enhancement, according to the NITI Aayog statement.
