Honda BigWing India has released a photo of the Honda CBR650R. Along with this photo, the company has written that "Power, Precision and much more to come". This clearly shows that the CBR650R can soon be launched in the Indian market with a new design including new features. This teaser is also pointing towards the e-clutch system available internationally. Know what is the Honda e-clutch system and how does it work. Meanwhile, when will the new Honda CBR650R be launched in India.

When the Honda e-clutch is implemented in the Honda CBR650R, its weight increases by as much as 211 kg. With it, the rider is able to shift gears without the clutch being clear. The e-clutch draws inspiration from Honda's current quickshifter and dual-clutch transmission (DCT) setup but is instead designed to integrate with a conventional gearbox and clutch configuration. It employs the use of two actuators and multiple sensors to electronically control the clutch engagement and is extremely beneficial in stop-go conditions. It provides clutchless shifting and stall-free shifting.

It gives riders the option between conventional and clutchless riding. Riders can simply use the shift pedal to change gears without touching the clutch level. It also handles clutch operation when starting or stopping, making the bike much easier to use. Honda has also created customization options for shift feel, allowing riders to choose between soft, medium, and hard resistance settings for both upshifts and downshifts. Apart from this, this system will also alert the rider to downshift if the bike is in high gear, which is not according to the speed at which the rider is riding the bike.

It will get to see the same 649cc in-line four engine as before, which generates 95 hp of power and 63 Nm of torque. Some changes can be seen in its styling and design. E-clutch branding on its engine and clutch case, which can be seen protruding slightly more than usual.

The company has not yet announced the launch date of the new Honda CBR650R, but its teaser has confirmed that the CBR650R with e-clutch will be launched in India soon. Its price may be slightly higher than the current one. The ex-showroom price of the current CBR650R is Rs 9.99 lakh.
