RTIS devices for 2,700 locomotives have been installed in 21 electric loco sheds. As part of the second phase rollout, 6,000 more locomotives will be covered in 50 loco sheds using ISRO's SATCOM hub. The ministry said that at present the GPS feeds from around 6,500 locomotives (RTIS and REMMLOT) are being fed directly to the Control Office Application (COA). This has enabled automatic charting of trains through COA and NTES integration and real-time information flow to passengers.
