Indian Railway: If you want to track every movement of the train sitting at home, then now you will be able to easily track every movement of the train sitting at home and neither will your train be missed. For this, the Ministry of Railways says that the Indian Railways, in collaboration with ISRO, is installing a Real-time Train Information System (RTIS), which will track train movement at stations including arrival and departure and run-through on locomotives. Will automatically track the time. The Ministry said that the Real Time Train Information System (RTIS) developed in collaboration with ISRO is being installed on locomotives for automatic acquisition of train movement timings at stations, including arrival and departure or run-through. These are automatically allotted in the Control Office Application (COA) system from the control charts of those trains. The ministry said that RTIS will also provide mid-section updates with a duration of 30 seconds.

It added that Train Control can now more closely track the location and speed of an RTIS-enabled locomotive/train without any human intervention. RTIS devices for 2,700 locomotives have been installed in 21 electric loco sheds. As part of the second phase rollout, 6,000 more locomotives will be covered in 50 loco sheds using ISRO's SATCOM hub. The ministry said that at present the GPS feeds from around 6,500 locomotives (RTIS and REMMLOT) are being fed directly to the Control Office Application (COA). This has enabled automatic charting of trains through COA and NTES integration and real-time information flow to passengers.

Good response from train passengers
