Do you also have a dream of working in Australia? The government has come up a special program to provide a new opportunity for talented Indian youth to work in Australia. Under this program named Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-Professional Scheme (MATES), Indian university graduates and early career professionals will be given a chance to work in Australia for two years.

This new work program will commence in December. The Australian Home Department said MATES provides a pathway for Indian university graduates and early career professionals to work in Australia for two years. Australia and India signed the Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement (MMPA) Agreement on 23 May 2023.

Under the agreement, there was also a provision to deal with issues regarding illegal and irregular migration, calling for the facilitation and encouragement of two-way migration and mobility between the two countries. MATES has been established under this MMPA. Any Indian citizen who is 30 years of age or less and has never taken part in this program can apply under MATES.

Apart from this, the candidate must be proficient in the English language. Under this, the overall IELTS or equivalent score shall be at least 6, with every one of the four modules having a minimum score of 5. Also, at the time of application, graduation should have been completed within 2 years from a qualified educational institution. These should be graduates in courses such as renewable energy, mining, engineering, information communication technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI), financial technology (FinTech) and agricultural technology (AgriTech).
