Mumbai Indians Appoint Former Australia Spinner Kristen Beams as Spin Bowling Coach

WPL 2026: The former Australian cricketer said, "It's incredible that they've built a winning streak over such a long period of time. You hear everyone talking about how this group of players is so connected. It's like a family. You want to be a part of that family. I think as a coach, that's what you want to do. To be in an environment that feels really strong. To be with a team that knows how to win."

Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have appointed former Australian leg-spinner Kristen Beams as their spin bowling coach. The franchise announced this on Monday. In a video posted on their Instagram, Kristen said, "This is my first time here as a coach. It's a great opportunity to work with Jhulan Goswami, one of the greatest players I've faced in cricket."

The former Australian cricketer added, "It's incredible how they've built a winning streak over such a long period. People often talk about how connected this group of players is. It's like a family. You want to be part of that. As a coach, that's what you aim for: an environment that feels strong and a team that knows how to win." Kristen brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Mumbai Indians, working alongside head coach Lisa Keightley, bowling coach Jhulan Goswami, batting coach Devika Palshikar, and fielding coach Nicole Bolton.

She has taken 42 wickets in 30 ODIs for Australia, with an average of 22.45, and 20 wickets in 18 T20Is. Beams has also appeared in one Test match. In the Women's Big Bash League, she played 45 matches, taking 37 wickets at an average of 24.08.
