Khushi Bhardwaj on Kolkata Rape Case: 'Focus Must Be on Justice for the Victim'

Actress Khushi Bhardwaj, who is a part of the successful series ‘Gyaarah Gyaarah’, shares her deep concern about the recent Kolkata rape case where a lady doctor was brutally murdered and raped. Khushi feels the whole protest should get justice fast.

She says,”The Kolkata rape case has shocked and saddened many people because it involved a horrific crime that resulted in the death of the victim. This tragedy has not only highlighted the brutal nature of such crimes but also stirred a significant public outcry. It is encouraging to see celebrities and public figures coming together to speak up against such violence. Their involvement is vital in raising awareness, influencing public opinion, and pressurising authorities to take strong actions.” 

She also adds,”In cases like this, where the victim has tragically lost their life, it is essential that the perpetrators receive severe and appropriate punishment. This means imposing strict penalties such as long prison sentences or life imprisonment. Such measures are crucial not only to ensure that justice is served but also to demonstrate that society will not tolerate such heinous acts. Moreover, while the legal system must address the offenders, it is equally important to provide support and care for the victim's family, who are left to cope with the aftermath of this tragedy.
