Indian women's pair reaches final of Table-Tennis WTT Contender: Beat No.1 seed Yubin and Jihee of Korea 3-2 in semi-finals

The Indian women's doubles pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee has reached the final of the WTT Contender (Table Tennis Tournament) being played in Tunis, Tunisia. In the semi-finals played on Saturday, the Indian pair defeated the number-1-seeded Korean pair of Shin Yubin and Jeon Jihee 3-2 (7-11 11-9 11-9 7-11 11-9).
In the final, Sutirtha and Ayahika will face the Japanese pair of Miyu Kihara and Miwa Harimoto.
In the mixed doubles category, the Indian pair of Manika Batra and G Sathiyan, while the men's doubles pair of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah lost their respective semi-final matches. Earlier, the pair of Batra and Sathiyan had defeated the German pair of Cedric Meissner and Yuan Wan 3-0 in a one-sided match in the quarterfinals.
In men's singles, Achanta Sarath Kamal and Sathiyan were knocked out of the tournament in the first round itself. India's campaign in women's singles also came to an end as Ayhika Mukherjee went down 0-3 (5-11 9-11 10-12) to Japan's Miyu Nagasaki in the Round of 16. Batra, Sreeja Akula, and Diya Chitale failed to advance beyond the first round.
In men's singles, Harmeet Desai went down 0-3 to China's Liang Yanning in the pre-quarterfinals on Friday.
