Rajasthan Weather Alert: Several districts in Rajasthan are experiencing heavy rainfall due to the impact of a Western Disturbance. Jaipur received the highest rainfall of 92 mm in the last 24 hours. The rainfall has also brought down the maximum temperature by 12 degrees.

The Western Disturbance’s effects in Rajasthan persisted into Tuesday, keeping eastern districts cloudy with light rain in some areas. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for nine districts. From October 8, clear and dry weather is forecasted across the state.

On Monday, several districts, including Jaipur, Nagaur, Hanumangarh, and Sikar, experienced heavy rainfall of up to 4 inches, leading to flooded fields and damage to Kharif crops. The rainfall and cloud cover caused a significant drop in temperatures, with Hanumangarh seeing only a 1-degree difference between day and night temperatures.

Kuchaman in Nagaur received 88 mm of rain, Khandela in Sikar 70 mm, Srimadhopur 66 mm, and Chhaparwada in Jaipur 92 mm. Other districts such as Alwar, Bundi, Rajsamand, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, and Jhunjhunu also saw substantial rainfall.

In Jaipur, rain started Monday morning and continued until late at night, stopping around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. The city recorded 92 mm of rain in 24 hours, with nearby Chhaparwada Dam receiving the same amount. Chandwas on Delhi Road received 53 mm, while Jalsu, Dudu, and Maujmabad each got 27 mm. Jobner recorded 40 mm, Bairat 52 mm, Shahpura 56 mm, Fagi 35 mm, Chomun 26 mm, and Sanganer 29 mm.

This rainfall caused a sharp temperature decline across the state, with the highest temperature dropping to 12°C. Sikar was the coldest at 22.5°C during the day. Other temperatures included Jaipur at 25.1°C, Pilani 24.7°C, Alwar 24°C, Churu 24.1°C, Bikaner 29.3°C, Udaipur 29°C, and Jhunjhunu 24.9°C. Starting October 8, the weather is expected to stay dry, with a gradual rise in temperatures.
