Ana de Armas denies rumors of replacing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in DC Universe films

Ana de Armas, the star of the movie 'Blonde,' has denied rumors that she will be replacing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the upcoming DC Universe films. The rumors emerged after producers Peter Safran and James Gunn announced plans to reinvent the franchise. When asked about the possibility of taking over the role, de Armas praised Gadot's performance and stated that she should continue playing the iconic character.
According to ANI, Gadot has recently reprised her role as Diana Prince in 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods', but it is unclear if she will continue to portray the character in future films. The third installment of 'Wonder Woman', which was previously in development with director Patty Jenkins, has been scrapped, leaving the future of the franchise uncertain.
Jenkins issued a statement clarifying her position, saying that she was open to considering any opportunities but was unable to move forward at this time. With the DC Universe going through significant changes, it is understandable that these decisions are challenging, leaving the future of Wonder Woman in question.
Safran and Gunn are currently working on reinventing the DC Universe, which will include a new Superman. The new era of DC films will begin with 'Superman: Legacy,' which is set to release in 2025.
