Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the proposal for action related to the formation of new district councils and the reorganization of affected district councils.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the proposal for action related to the formation of new district councils and the reorganization of affected district councils. According to the proposal, under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, the District Collectors of the concerned districts (8 new districts and 12 affected districts) will prepare a proposal for the formation and reorganization of the District Council based on Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats. Along with this, proposals for the new creation and reorganization of the affected Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats will also be prepared.
The proposals shall be made in public by the District Collectors and invite objections within a month. After disposal, the proposal will be sent to the state government. After testing and approval of these proposals, notification for the formation of newly formed/reorganized District Councils, Panchayat Committees, and Gram Panchayats will be issued.
The previous government had decided in the last year of its tenure to create 17 new districts and 3 new divisions in the state but did not form new district councils in the newly created districts. The state government has now redefined districts. After redefinition, the state government has decided to form new district councils in the 8 new districts that were kept as they are, so that the common people can get the real benefit of the formation of these districts.
District councils will be formed in the 8 new districts of Phalodi, Balotra, Kotputli-Baharod, Khairthal-Tijara, Beawar, Deeg, Didwana-Kuchaman, and Salumber. Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayats will also be reorganized.
