OpenAI has introduced a new 'Record Mode' feature in the ChatGPT macOS app, now accessible to ChatGPT Plus subscribers as well. Previously available only to ChatGPT Team users, it is now open to Plus users worldwide.
Record Mode is an AI-powered tool that captures audio during conference calls, meetings, or voice notes and then provides transcriptions, summaries, and notes. The app does not join meetings separately; it only uses system audio.
How to use?
- To activate this feature, ensure you have the ChatGPT app on macOS and an active ChatGPT Plus subscription.
- Click the Record button at the bottom of the app.
- Allow microphone and system audio access.
- You can record up to 120 minutes of audio per session and pause or resume the recording at any time.
- After processing, the transcript and summary appear in 'canvases.'
- These summaries can also be converted into emails or detailed reports if desired.
- Record Mode currently supports only English. OpenAI is working to add support for other languages.
