Reliance Retail is going to launch its e-commerce beauty platform, Tera. Along with this, he will also open his offline store. The first offline Teenra Store will open in Mumbai in April. After this, it will expand in both 'Shop-in-Shop' and Standalone across the country. Subramaniam V, director of Reliance Retail, gave this information at an event organized by the Idnestle Chamber of Ficci.
Teera will get products of makeup, skincare, hair care, bathing, francais, men's beauty and luxury sections. Right now this platform is open to all the employees of Reliance, but will soon open to the general public as well. The Tera Store will offer several technical interventions such as virtual try-on and customized recantation. Retail will be sold under a special category named Luxury Products under a special category.
Subramaniam V said that Reliance is one of the big players in the retail beauty segment. We are already present in personal care and hair care. We are the biggest customers of Lakem. Now, we are bringing a kind of special channel for beauty. Reliance Retail has invested in several fashion brands including Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar in the last few years.
Reliance Retail bought a controlling stake in makeup and personal care brand Insight Cosmetics last year. Teera will compete with several multi-brand beauty retailers including Nayaka, SS Beauty, and Tata Click Pales.
A 2021 report by Statista states that India ranks fourth in Revenue Generation from Beauty and Personal Care Market. There is only America, China and Japan ahead of India. It is estimated that online sales will increase by 18.2% over the next few years.
