South Africa beat India by 30 runs in the Kolkata Test. Team India was set a target of 124 runs but managed only 93. With this defeat on the difficult Eden Gardens pitch, India fell behind 0-1 in the two-match series. After the match, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly visited Gill in the hospital on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.
Gill suffered an injury on the second day of play and was ruled out of the match before the start of the third day. He couldn't bat in the second innings either, and the Indian team collapsed for 93. Gill's participation in the second Test, starting in Guwahati on November 22nd, is still uncertain. The team will leave for Guwahati on Tuesday.
Dr. Dinsha Pardiwala, head of the BCCI's medical panel and head of the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Centre of Sports Medicine, conducted a detailed review of the test report, which confirmed that Shubman Gill suffered an interspinous ligament injury, which affects the ligaments located between the neck bones.
