Apple will employ so many Google employees, will work on AI features to compete with ChatGPT

Tech giant Apple is working on AI features. The company will offer generative AI features in its iOS 18 update and iPhone 16 series. Now a report says that Apple has hired about a dozen AI experts from Google. Apple has given him a job to work in the Secretive European Laboratory.

According to the report, all these experts will work to further improve Apple's AI features. The iPhone maker has hired at least 36 AI experts from Google since 2018. Apple's first AI team operates out of California and Seattle. The company has recently expanded its office in Zurich Switzerland to work on AI.

According to the report, the employees working in the lab are working on a Large Language Model (LLM) for Apple. They aim to create a powerful AI tool to answer user queries in both audio and video formats. Many new features found in Apple Siri are also the result of work done in this lab.

This AI team of Apple also includes employees like Giannandrea of Google, who is currently working for DeepMind. Sammy Bengio currently works as the Senior Director of AI and ML Research at Apple. Before this, he worked in top positions at Google.
