Amitabh Kant joins IndiGo's board, will take over responsibility of non-executive director
Amitabh Kant: IndiGo's parent company, InterGlobe Aviation, on Thursday announced the appointment of former Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant as a non-executive director on its board. The appointment is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval.
IndiGo parent InterGlobe Aviation said Thursday that it has made former Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant a non-executive director to its board. The appointment is subject to regulatory and shareholder sanction. Kant, the chief strategist behind several large national campaigns including Make in India, Startup India, and Incredible India, recently stepped down as the G20 Sherpa of India last month.
IndiGo's Board of Directors Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta said, IndiGo is happy to welcome Amitabh Kant as a board member. He has considerable experience in administrative work at the national and global level. IndiGo will greatly benefit from his leadership qualities. Mehta said that the IndiGo team can leverage his extensive experience and knowledge in achieving its goal of becoming a global company by 2030.
