High-profile builders, developers and tech parks are also the targets of the anti-encroachment drive in Bengaluru. These encroachments were believed to be the reason for the recent floods in the city. After this, the administration also demolished buildings in many places.
The Bengaluru Municipal Corporation has identified 700 such encroachments which have been attributed to floods. These include Wipro, Prestige, Eco Space, Bagmane Tech Park, Columbia Asia Hospital and Divyashree Villa. According to the report of NDTV, the documents related to the campaign have come out with shocking facts. While the anti-encroachment drive is going on in full swing for the common man, no action has been taken against the big companies so far.
When the engineers of the administration were talked to, they said on the condition of anonymity that even big companies would not be spared, but the action is yet to start. We are taking one step after another. But, one thing which is clearly visible on the ground is that there is a delay.
So far, action has been taken on Nalapada Academy of International School, East Bangalore. This school Youth Congress President Mohd. It is associated with Nalapada. Nalapad is one of the biggest critics of the BJP government in Karnataka. An engineer involved in the operation said that due to the mistake of the revenue department, the encroachment by the school was not noticed. We don't know about this. The revenue department had to keep an eye on this. Now we are taking action.
According to officials, the operation is also going on in some residential areas. The official figures are yet to come in how many places action has been taken and how many places are left. The boundary wall of a four-storey building in East Bangalore has been demolished. The building's owner Dinesh Reddy objected to this. He said that all necessary clearances were taken even before the construction.
Reddy said that the drain was here for a long time. Knowing this, the authorities gave me permission for construction. I have not violated any rules. The officers came without any notice and demolished the boundary wall.
