WhatsApp’s New Incognito Chat Promises Temporary and Encrypted AI Conversations
WhatsApp has announced a new Incognito mode for chats with Meta AI. This will provide users with privacy while interacting with the AI assistant.
Incognito Chat is a recently launched privacy-oriented chat option offered by WhatsApp in collaboration with Meta AI. According to the developers, it will allow users to have confidential conversations with the AI bot without the history of the interaction being recorded. Incognito Chat is based on the Private Processing technology by Meta AI and will be gradually rolled out to WhatsApp and Meta AI apps over the next few months.
As per Meta AI, Incognito Chat creates an entirely separate session with the AI agent on WhatsApp, accessible exclusively to the user. Conversations created using this mode of communication cannot be retrieved or viewed later, and messages expire by default.
The company states that the Incognito Chat feature with Meta AI is optional and will be available on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app as the rollout progresses over the next few months.
