Suzuki GSX-8R launched in India; priced at Rs 9.25 lakh, will compete with Kawasaki Ninja
Japanese bike manufacturer Suzuki has launched a sports bike in India. The name of this bike is Suzuki GSX-8R. Its ex-showroom price in India is Rs 925000. Suzuki has introduced its middle-weight sports bike, the GSX-8R, in India. It has two colour options: silver and black. This bike will compete in the Indian market with models such as the Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and Aprilia RS660. It gets its power from a 776cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder unit. The motor puts out 82.9PS of power and 78Nm of peak torque. The mill is paired with a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch and bi-directional quick shifter. It boasts of a tubular frame. The suspension includes inverted forks and link-type mono-shock from Showa. This supersport bike has a wheelbase featuring a 17-inch alloy wheel at both ends with 120-section front and 180-section rear tyres.
The Suzuki GSX-8R features a 5-inch TFT display with two different display modes, namely for day and night. The bike comes with 3 riding modes which are A, B, and C. These modes modulate the throttle response. Its mode A gives the fastest throttle response. While Mode B gives a better balance to the bike. It has better throttle response and linear power delivery. Its mode C reveals a softer throttle response and does fairly well on wet or slippery roads. The braking setting of the bike is twin disc front and single-disc rear setup with NISSIN calipers. Dual-channel ABS is also included.
