Suspect entered Pakistan PM's house: was a resident of Afghanistan, security agencies are questioning
A suspicious person entered the house of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday. The security personnel posted at the Prime Minister's residence could not find out from where the person entered. However, acting promptly, he was arrested. He has been handed over to the Counter Terrorism Department for questioning.
Islamabad Police said that the suspect is a resident of Afghanistan. A police officer said- The suspected Afghan man had reached PM House through three different routes. At present, we do not know how he managed to enter despite the tight security arrangements in place. But the CCTV footage is being examined.
According to Pakistani media 'Dawn', Islamabad Police spokesman Jawwad Taqi said – The person did not have any identity card. We had asked him for an identity card at the time of arrest, which he could not produce. He was detained near the wall of the Prime Minister's residence.
Police and other security agencies are also questioning the suspect, an official said. His medical examination is being done. Along with this, his mental health is also being monitored. The officer said- In the CCTV footage, the man was shown walking on the main road outside Blocks A, B, C and D of the Pakistan Secretariat.
