Honda's first electric bike E-VO launched with range is 170 km; Know the price and features
Honda E-VO: Honda has officially launched its first electric motorcycle, E-VO, in China. This is Honda's first entry in the electric bike segment. However, it will be available only in China right now.

Honda has launched its maiden e-motorbike, the E-VO, in China. It has made this bike in association with its Chinese partner company, Wuyang-Honda. Its design has a retro-style cafe racer feel to it. But the motorcycle features incredible levels of modern technology and performance. The e-motorbike is the company's maiden venture in the e-bike segment. But for now, the bike is being sold only in China.
Honda E-VO has two battery options: one being a 4.1 kWh dual battery and the other being a 6.2 kWh triple battery. The range of the lower battery variant has been put at 120 km, with the car's weight being 143 kg. On the other hand, the bigger battery version has a range of 170 km and weighs a little more, 156 kg. Both versions are equipped with a 15.8kW (about 21 horsepower) electric motor, which takes the bike's top speed to 120 km per hour. The charging time of the battery is also very less. The smaller battery takes 1 to 1.5 hours to charge, and the bigger battery takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the charger used.
Where the E-VO attracts the most attention is its advanced tech features. It is one of the world's first electric bikes to get integrated dashcams. The 4.1 kWh variant has a front dashcam, while the 6.2 kWh version also has a rear dashcam. The bike has two 7-inch TFT displays - one for the instrument cluster and the other for functions like navigation, music controls, tire pressure monitoring (TPMS), and battery status. It has three modes for riding - Eco, Normal, and Sport. That not only controls the performance of the bike, but also affects the regenerative braking.
The structure of the E-VO is made entirely of forged aluminum, which keeps this bike light as well as robust. The front and the back of the bike are fitted with 16 and 14-inch wheels, respectively. They are equipped with semi-slick tires, so the grip is still great. The dual-channel ABS is provided as standard in the bike, and the seat height of the bike has been maintained at 765 mm. Because of this, riders of various heights are able to ride easily.
Honda has launched the E-VO in China with a price tag of CNY 30,000 (approximately Rs 3.56 lakh) for the 4.1 kWh model and CNY 37,000 (approximately Rs 4.38 lakh) for the 6.2 kWh model. However, this bike is not going to be launched in India for now. Currently, Honda is building a special electric vehicle plant in India, which is expected to be operational by 2028. After this, the company can launch an electric bike specially designed for India.
