Foreign and domestic investors invested five billion dollars in the market in March, most investment in BFSI

Foreign and domestic investors put an investment worth five billion dollars into the stock market in March. In its month-end report, JM Financial Securities stated that foreign institutional investors (FIIs) invested $975 million and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) invested $4.3 billion in the domestic equities market in the month.

According to the report, FIIs were net sellers in the stock market from the beginning of March to the 19th. But, in the last weeks, foreign investors bought on a large scale and invested more than $3.6 billion. Due to this, the share of FIIs in the market has increased to 16.8 percent, which was 15.9 percent in February.

The sectors in which FIIs invested the most were banking, financial, and insurance services (BFSI), telecom, and metals. $1.7 billion was invested in BFSI, $360 million in teleco,m and $219 million in metals. More than 60% of FIIs' investments were in BFSI, IT, oil-gas, auto and pharma. The share of BFSI in total FII assets in India rose to 31.2% in March.
