Compensation of 6 lakhs had to be given for asking age

Asking the woman's age in the interview was overshadowed by Domino's. For this, the company had to pay £4,250 (about Rs 4 lakh) to the woman as compensation. According to a BBC report, a woman named Janice Walsh, who lives in Northern Ireland, applied for the job of a pizza delivery driver at Dominos.
Janice was asked her age in an interview with the Dominos Pizza franchise in Strabane, County Tyrone. According to Janice Walsh, she was not selected for this job because of her age and being a woman.
Not being selected for the job, Janice sent a Facebook message to the store explaining the discrimination she faced. After this, the interviewer called him and apologized. They were told that they were unaware that it was wrong to ask someone's age during a job interview.
Janice accused the Strauben franchise and its previous owner Justin Quirk of discrimination. Quirk then offered Janice £4,250 as compensation and apologized for the incident.
After not getting the job, Janice learns from another Domino's employee that people between the ages of 18 and 30 are considered suitable for this job. Apart from this, he told me that I have only seen men doing the job of a driver and in such a situation I felt that I was not given the job because I am a woman.
Janice then reported the matter to the Northern Ireland Equality Commission. The commission helped them in their legal battle and got them compensation.
