In the coming days, the traffic system in Jehanabad city will be totally transformed. Now, at the big squares in the city, the lines will be equipped with red, yellow, and green traffic light signals. The meaning will be that when the red light appears, they will stop, when the green light appears, they can go ahead, and when the yellow light appears, they will have to slow down because the red light will be coming.

Major squares in the city will have CCTVs installed so that traffic rules are followed. Using these cameras, a photograph will be taken of the number plate of the vehicles and the one who breaks the traffic rules will be given an e-challan. This system will closely watch errors such as overspeed and jumping the signals.

Traffic police have planned the main areas where they will apply this system. A proposal for the installation of traffic signals at Kako Mod, Arwal Mod, and Ambedkar Chowk has already been approved.

At present, the work of widening the roads is going on. As soon as it is completed, the work of installing traffic signals and CCTV cameras will be started at these places. Especially cameras will be installed near Kako Mod and Arwal Mod so that violations of traffic rules can be tracked.

Till now the traffic police manually control the traffic at these intersections, due to which many drivers escape challan. However, after the implementation of the e-challan system, strict action will be taken against those who violate traffic rules. This is expected to reduce accidents. In particular, negligence like not wearing helmets for bike riders will also be monitored.

Traffic DSP Naveen Kumar said that this proposal was presented in January, but its implementation is stalled due to the widening of roads. At the same time, District Transport Officer Rahul Kumar has also assured that the e-challan system will be started soon. This new step will be a big step towards making the traffic system in Jehanabad more safe and disciplined.
