Several Meta-owned apps like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp faced some issues on Wednesday night. After this, the services of all three platforms went down together. According to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com, thousands of users experienced technical issues using the platform on Wednesday night. However, soon after that, Instagram tweeted that its services had been restored.
On Thursday, just hours after the announcement of OpenAI's integration with iPhone, iPad, and Mac, ChatGPT experienced a major outage that forced the service to shut down temporarily all over the world. Within minutes of the outage, the company confirmed the outage and re-activated the AI chatbot by fixing the bug. This was the second major outage by OpenAI, the first one happening in early November.
OpenAI wrote in a post, "We're experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry and we'll keep you updated!" ChatGPT was down for users around the world for about three hours. Users faced problems on both the web and the app. At the moment, it is not clear what caused this outage.
